Larry D. Taylor, CPA, CMA, CMC
Chairman of the Board
Mr. Taylor is the President of Taylor Made Solutions based in Toronto and is a CEO Group Leader for CEO Global Network also based in Toronto. Mr. Taylor is an experienced CEO with a strong track record of leadership in growing financial services and professional services firms. As a former Managing Partner at Ernst & Young, Mr. Taylor also has broad management consulting experience assisting various multinational and regional companies transform their organizations. In addition, Mr. Taylor is an experienced investor working with private equity firms, public and private companies to identify, acquire and combine companies to create superior shareholder value. He also services as Board Chair for the Green Energy Co-op of Ontario.
The Honourable Mr. Howard I. Wetston, Q.C.
Mr. Wetston is a respected public servant and a distinguished lawyer, jurist, regulator and executive. He is one of Canada’s most prominent leaders in administrative law and regulation with deep expertise in securities, energy, competition and other regulated industries. He was the Chair & CEO of the Ontario Securities Commission from 2010 to 2015, was the Chair & CEO of the Ontario Energy Board from 2003 to 2010, and was a Vice-Chair of the OSC from 1999 to 2004. Mr. Wetston was appointed to the Senate of Canada in 2016 and is a retired trial judge of the Federal Court of Canada and ex-officio judge of its Appeal Division.
Daniel Peloquin is a seasoned executive who has been involved in the manufacturing and exporting of products and services serving the electrical Transmission and Distribution (T&D) industry and End Users on international markets for over 35 years. Peloquin’s background includes extensive executive leadership in general management, human capital, engineering, sales, marketing and operations. He has a wealth of experience in leading and managing large teams of people for many large, global organizations, in Canada and abroad.
He has most recently served as the President of Schneider Electric Canada. Prior to this, he has also been the CEO of a global division of Siemens AG. He has also held senior executive positions with the large multinational companies AREVA and ALSTOM.
Since 2015, Peloquin is the CEO and Managing Partner of the management consulting firm Daniel Peloquin Consultant (DPC). He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Ontario’s Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) and is ESA’s Chair of its Human Resources and Investment Committee. He serves on the Board of Directors of other companies involved in electricity generation, transmission and distribution and Smart Grids. He has also been appointed to the Advisory Board of one of the Councils of the Standards Council of Canada. Over the years, he has also served on the Board of many Canadian advocacy groups.
Mr. Morrison is an Independent Director. He was most recently the Senior Managing Director and Executive Vice President, Asset Management and Operations for OMERS Private Markets, which consists of OMERS Private Equity and Borealis Infrastructure.
Prior to OMERS, Don was Senior Vice President, and member of the Senior Management / Investment Committees at Working Ventures Canadian Fund, where he also led the Portfolio Management Group. He also spent several years at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Corporate Finance focusing on restructurings and turnarounds.
Don’s board experience includes current membership on the Corporate Boards/Advisory Boards of Give & Go Prepared Foods Inc., BCR Environmental Corporation, Mount Pleasant Group and CBRE Caledon Capital Management as well as past service on over 20 boards, ranging from early stage technology companies to large retailer/manufacturers.
James F. O’Neil III
James (Jim) F. O’Neil is a veteran executive of the power industry having most recently served as President, Chief Executive Officer, and Director of Quanta Services, Inc., a provider of specialty contracting services to the electric power and oil and gas industries. Under Jim’s leadership as COO and CEO, the company doubled in size, reaching revenues of US$7.57B. Jim is a member of the Board of Directors of Akron, Ohio-based electrical utility, FirstEnergy Corp. (NYSE: FE), and Hennessy Capital Partners III (NYSE American: HCAC). Jim is currently the principal owner of Forefront Solutions, LLC, providing consulting services primarily to the energy infrastructure industry.
Joe Is a successful public company Chief Executive Officer (TSX and NYSE), corporate executive and director. He was the Chief Executive Officer and Director of Progressive Waste Solutions Ltd., a North American non-hazardous solid waste management company from January 2012 until the reverse-merger with Waste Connections Inc. in 2016. Joe joined Progressive’s inaugural leadership team in July 2000 and played an integral role in its growth and success from US$100 million to US$2 billion in revenue.
Joe is currently the President and Chief Executive Officer of Q5 Capital Inc., a private investment company and strategic management advisor focused on leadership, growth and operating initiatives that drive value creation. He was recognized as #10 on the Financial Post’s Top 100 CEO Scorecard 2016, and named one of Canada’s Top 40 Under 40TM in 2004. Joe currently serves as a Board member of VIQ Solutions Inc., Edo Revenue Royalty GP and EJ Trademark GP, and Eagle River Capital, LLC. Joseph holds a Master of Business Administration (with Distinction) from the Ivey Business School at Western University, a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from the Smith School of Business at Queen’s University, and is a Chartered Professional Accountant and Chartered Accountant.
Sharon Ranson, FCPA, FCA, is a corporate director and entrepreneur with deep financial expertise in accounting, capital markets and investments. Currently, Sharon serves as a director for Sprott Inc. (TSX: SII), Echelon Financial Holdings (TSX: EFH), the City of Toronto Investment Board, Continental Bank of Canada, and Borrowell Inc. Sharon also Chairs the Nominating Committee for the Public Sector Pension Investment Board (PSPIB) and is on the Advisory Board for the Smith School of Business at Queen’s University. She is President of The Ranson Group Inc., a company offering coaching and leadership work with senior and c-suite executives.
