Jason Sparaga

Co-Founder & Co-CEO

Jason is an authority on entrepreneurship, finance and corporate growth in the renewable and power sectors. He is a co-founder and co-CEO of Spark Power Corp., a company he launched along with his partners, Andrew and Eric in 2009. Jason, Andrew and Eric were recipients of the Canadian Business Excellence Award in 2016.  Jason was also a finalist for the 2017 Entrepreneur Of The Year™ award in the “Power & Utilities & Environment” category for the Ontario Region with co-CEO Andrew Clark. Personally, and through Spark, Jason is an advocate for Corporate Social Responsibility and supports dozens of community and charitable organizations such as Unity for Autism, where he is the President on the Board, and Prostate Cancer Canada (PCC), where Spark hosts the annual Spark Power Play Challenge in support of PCC.  Prior to Spark, Jason spent 15 years as a private Industry investment and merchant banker, founding and building Spara Capital Partners into one of the leading boutique firms in Canada. Jason is a CPA and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree from The Goodman School of Business (Brock University), where as an alumnus, he still supports a multitude of initiatives for the University including as a member of the Dean’s Advisory Board.

Andrew Clark

Co-Founder & Co-CEO

Andrew is a leader in the Power industry with a focus on creating a cleaner and more sustainable future. Since co-founding Spark in 2009, Andrew has become an instrumental voice campaigning for and developing a smarter, cleaner distributed grid in the rapidly changing Power sector. He prides himself on Corporate Social Responsibility and enables a strong collaborative and open-minded culture with all employees. With his co-founders and partners Jason and Eric, Andrew and the team at Spark are on a mission to change the way people think about, consume and generate electricity.  Outside of Spark, Andrew is an active member of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO) Maple Leaf Chapter and in 2017, was nominated as the EY Entrepreneur of the Year ™ in Power, Utilities, and Environment. Prior to launching Spark Power Andrew held executive positions in Operations and Finance with CPI Plastics Group Ltd. and Business Development in the Bank of Canada. He was a founding director of the Federation of Community Power Co-operatives and is personally active in his own community. Andrew holds an MBA degree from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Queen’s University.

Eric Waxman

Co-Founder & Chief Investment Officer

Eric is an experienced business leader and financial executive.  He possesses a combination of entrepreneurial/family business background, professional training and extensive M&A experience.  Eric oversees the treasury and M&A functions for Spark and is also responsible for corporate development, managing the company’s capital partner relationships, asset management, human resources, and health, safety and environment. Prior to Spark, Eric was President of Spara Capital Partners, where he led hundreds of millions of dollars’ worth of M&A transactions, and growing up he worked in numerous capacities within his family businesses.  Eric holds a Bachelor degree from the University of Western Ontario and an MBA from the Schulich School of Business at York University.

Dan Ardila

Chief Financial Officer

Dan is responsible for financial reporting and recording for the Spark Power group of companies, business administration and administration of human resources. He brings over 22 years of experience in senior executive positions from both public and private businesses.  His expertise expand across a wide portfolio of industries, including executive positions at Algoma Steel Inc., CPI Plastics Group Ltd., 6N Silicon Inc., and Liquidation World.

Richard Jackson

Chief Operating Officer

Richard oversees the Spark Power operating companies and comes to Spark with 20 years of experience in various leadership roles across several industries.  Prior to joining Spark, Richard was Managing Director for North America for the France based company, Winoa Group overseeing their business operations.  Richard also spent 19 years in the electrical equipment manufacturer’s industry playing several senior roles in sales and operations with Moeller Electric and Eaton Corporation.  Richard holds an MBA from Athabasca University and Bachelor of Commerce Degree from Ryerson University.

Sean Kelly

EVP, Integration

Sean has many years of experience in project management, process implementation and system configuration and was instrumental in the founding and development of AGRIS Solar Co-operative. Sean’s primary responsibility is to work as part of a team recommending, organizing, planning and managing projects and/or programs to effectively integrate business operations, achieve and monitor post acquisitions results with respect to all business functions, and drive overall transition strategy within the current group of companies and all new acquisitions. Prior to working with AGRIS Solar, Sean held a variety of positions with Arvin Industries, Magna International Inc. and CPI Plastics Group Ltd.

Amin Kassam

EVP, Global Business Development

Amin is responsible for overseeing Spark Power’s Global Business Development strategies for the Services division, leading business development efforts in the markets we serve, mainly North and South America.  Amin joins us through the acquisition of Orbis Engineering, bringing over 25 years of power systems services experience, operations, technical and engineering capabilities. Prior to joining Spark, Amin was the founder of Orbis Engineering, Orbis Chile and Sibro Technologies.  Amin holds his P.Eng, with a license to practice across Canada, including Newfoundland, Alberta, British Columbia, Northwest Territories, Yukon Territories and Nunavut. His expertise extends internationally as well as remote locations within Canada’s arctic.

Roland Van Olst

EVP, Low Voltage Technical Services

Roland is responsible for Spark Power’s Low Voltage Technical Services, which includes the New Electric business in both Canada and the US. Roland will also lead Spark’s low voltage growth and expansion efforts across North America. For over 25 years, Roland has worked collaboratively with teams across Canada and the US to develop leading businesses in electrical service, custom control panels, electronic repair, industrial automation, preventative maintenance and energy efficiency consultations.

Cody Zaitsoff

EVP, High Voltage Technical Services

Cody is responsible for leading and growing Spark Power’s High Voltage services divisions in Canada, which includes Tiltran, Tal Trees, Rondar/Pelikan and Orbis Engineering. He will also oversee the HV expansion into the U.S. and across North America. Cody joins Spark through the Orbis acquisition. During his tenure at Orbis, Cody held a number of positions, including CFO and COO. He brings 16 years of industry experience to Spark and is adept to leading strong teams during rapid growth trajectories. Cody holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Alberta as well as his CPA, CGA accounting designation.

Morgan is responsible for overseeing the LIZCO Sales division of Spark Power as well as oversight for the company’s supply chain. He brings over 25 years’ experience in executive management, operations and project management capacities in the infrastructure, construction, engineering and energy sectors. He is a builder and an operator with an impressive track-record of innovation and entrepreneurship regardless of whether he’s building large project teams or corporate divisions. Morgan has built several divisions and subsidiaries from concepts to national and international organizations.

David Asling-Snee

EVP, Renewables & Asset Management

David is responsible for overseeing Spark Power’s renewable services business. David brings over 20 years of diverse energy services industry experience. David joined Spark Power through the acquisition of Northwind Solutions where he led the business and organizational development functions in building Northwind into a leading independent service provider (ISP) in North America’s renewable energy O&M services market. Previous to Northwind, David held progressively senior positions at Enbridge Gas Distribution, Enbridge Services and Direct Energy Services.

Sean Drygas

EVP, Sustainability Solutions

Sean is responsible for leading the Sustainability Solutions business of Spark, including our Bullfrog Power business and related solutions in renewable energy and energy storage. Sean joined Spark through the acquisition of Bullfrog, which he joined in 2014, as VP of Corporate Development, after nearly 10 years of strategy and business development roles at Maple Leaf Foods and its Canada Bread subsidiary, and previous experience with FedEx, a technology service start-up and GEOS Corporation in Tokyo, Japan. Sean earned an Honours Business Administration degree from the Ivey School of Business at Western University and was the gold medalist in the MBA program at the Schulich School of Business at York University.

Ron Seftel

President, Bullfrog Power Solutions

Ron Seftel is responsible for overseeing the Bullfrog Power Solutions division of Spark Power. Ron brings more than 20 years of strategic planning, operations, finance and industry experience to Spark. Prior to joining Spark, Ron was CEO of Bullfrog Power where he scaled operations across the country and expanded Bullfrog’s portfolio of renewable energy products, including launching the country’s first renewable natural gas choice for residential and business consumers. Ron sits on various advisory committees at the federal and provincial levels, providing guidance on energy policy, infrastructure and strategies to increase renewable energy production in Canada. Before joining Bullfrog in 2007, Ron held a variety of senior operational and financial positions with entrepreneurial organizations in the financial services, real estate and IT sectors.
