A cultural anthropologist, a Silicon Valley visionary, and Canada’s most famous astronaut, among those to speak at the inaugural Future of Power event

This event—hosted by Spark Power Corp., will be held on April 9, 2019, at Evergreen Brick Works, in Toronto, ON.

Cultural anthropologist, professor, and author of The Grid: The Fraying Wires Between Americans and Our Energy Future, Gretchen Bakke, Ph.D.; Clean Disruption author, Co-Founder of RethinkX and Silicon Valley entrepreneur, Tony Seba; closing keynote speaker, retired astronaut, former commander of the International Space Station, and the first Canadian to walk in space, Commander Chris Hadfield will all present and offer a Q&A session at the event.

The moderated panel discussions include:

  • Looking Forward to the Grid of the Future—moderator, Ron Dizy, SVP Partnerships and Managing Director, MaRS Advanced Energy Centre, will explore how the energy grid will change and, more importantly, how those changes will affect customers.
  • Energy Cost Saving Trends and Future Opportunities—moderator, Darcy Boudreau, Director of Power Solutions, Spark Power Corp., will lead a discussion on what role battery energy storage will continue to play in the Future of Power.
  • The Future of Power for Manufacturers—moderator, Sean Drygas, Executive Vice President, Sustainability Solutions at Bullfrog Power, will lead a discussion around the proactive implementations of sustainable power solutions to organizations.
  • Corporate PPA’s: What Now? What’s Next?—moderator, Andrew Clark, Co-Founder and Co-CEO, Spark Power Corp., will discuss why the world’s biggest and most influential companies are choosing to purchase power from non-utility providers.
