Ali Assaf

Ali Assaf brings extensive global experience and technical expertise to his role as Chief Commercial Officer of Technical Services at Spark Power. With a career that spans power generation, transmission, decarbonization, and project development, Ali has a proven track record of delivering innovative solutions for complex projects around the world.
 
Prior to joining Spark Power, Ali held the position of Vice President at Black & Veatch Canada, where he directed a sustainability-oriented business encompassing New Energy Solutions, Power Generation, Carbon Capture, Hydrogen, and Transmission. He is skilled in full-cycle project execution, covering engineering, procurement, construction, finance, and development.

As a leader who promotes collaboration, Ali is recognized for his ability to align multidisciplinary teams and engage stakeholders, ensuring smooth project delivery. His technical expertise in systems, including electrical and distributed control systems, was established early in his career, focusing on startup and commissioning, instrumentation and controls, electrical engineering, and construction.
 
An alumnus of the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology, Ali is dedicated to advancing sustainable energy solutions. His commitment to innovation and excellence makes him a pivotal leader in driving Spark Power's technical services and ensuring client success.

Richard Jackson, Chief Executive Officer

Richard Jackson is the President & CEO of Spark Power, bringing over 25 years of leadership experience in the industrial and electrical services sectors. He’s responsible for driving Spark’s long-term growth strategy and operational performance across North America. Before joining Spark, Richard led North American operations at Winoa Group and held senior roles at Eaton Corporation and Shanahan’s. He sits on the board of Merit Ontario and is a founding member of The Luce Initiative, a fundraising organization supporting youth mental health.

Cody Zaitsoff, Chief Financial Officer

Cody is Spark Power’s Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Cody is an experienced leader with a background in field engineering and system design services, Cody is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the organization, including planning, risk management, and reporting.

Nadia Fortino, Vice President of Human Resources

Nadia Fortino is the Vice President of Human Resources at Spark Power. With a solid background in Employee Relations and Performance Management, she developed and led the HR department for North and South America at Winoa North America. Nadia holds the Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) designation in Canada and the Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) designation in the United States. She earned her BA in Political Science from Brock University and her MA in Politics from the University of Sheffield in the UK.

Brad Nichols, Vice President, EHS & Operational Excellence

Brad Nichols brings over 25 years of experience in industrial safety, environmental management, and quality systems. At Spark Power, he leads the company’s EHS and Operational Excellence programs, driving a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement across the organization.

Bill Richardson, Vice President of Renewables

Bill Richardson is the Vice President of Renewables at Spark Power, bringing over 16 years of extensive experience in the solar industry, distinguished by his ability to grow strong businesses and build dynamic teams. He most recently served as the CEO of Sounder Solutions, where he provided consulting services to the renewable energy sector, specializing in engineering, design, troubleshooting, and QA/QC services.

Sam Delisio, Vice President of Sales, Renewables

Sam Delisio is a seasoned energy industry leader with over 15 years of experience driving commercial growth across the renewables sector. At Spark Power, he leads business development efforts focused on scaling solar, battery storage, and wind solutions across North America.

Curtis Brandt, Vice President of Technical Services

Curtis is Spark Power’s Vice President of Technical Services. Curtis brings 28 years of unparalleled expertise in the electrical services industry, having served in key operational and business development roles at industry leaders such as Magna Electric Corporation and Shermco Industries. His vast experience encompasses the full spectrum of North American heavy industrial power systems, including high voltage (HV), medium voltage (MV), and low voltage (LV) systems, from maintenance and commissioning to comprehensive turnkey services.

Deeksha Sharma, Director of Strategy and Corporate Development

Deeksha Sharma is the Director of Strategy and Corporate Development at Spark Power, bringing over a decade of global experience across multiple industries. Since 2017, she has played a key role in Spark’s growth, guiding the company through its go-private transaction and leading strategic initiatives. With a strong background in M&A within the electrical sector, Deeksha has also driven transformative projects for top-tier organizations like American Express, Exp Services Inc., and General Motors. She holds a BBA in Finance and Economics from Brock University.

Paul Demarco, Director of Risk Compliance, and Legal

Paul Demarco is the Director of Risk, Compliance, and Legal at Spark Power, offering solutions-oriented legal advice to teams across the company. Before joining Spark Power, Paul practiced law, focusing on corporate mergers and acquisitions, business risk management, and commercial real estate. He holds a Juris Doctor from Western University and is a Barrister & Solicitor in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
