I have been given the chance to build and grow my career in a way that I don’t think would have been possible in a union environment.

I love the fact that everyday is a NEW day, meeting NEW customers, NEW challenges and stretching my abilities. The wide variety of experiences that are available to me are there for me and all employees. I feel like I'm appreciated as an individual.

I have worked in a union environment in the past, and have zero interest in going back. I have always made more money when I have worked for non-union companies.

We have room for improvement and have made some mistakes for sure, but we have done many, many things right too. We all have worked very hard to build what we have today. New Electric (and Spark Power) has always provided opportunities for growth, with the freedom and flexibility to pursue it. I am angry that with a union we may lose that. I left New years ago but came back because I wanted to be more than just ‘an employee’ and more than just ‘a number’.

I love the fact that I can go and talk to anyone, a true open-door policy. My current boss is the best I’ve ever had, and I respect him immensely. I am constantly given the opportunity to do and try new things under him.

I love everything about this job. We have NEW jobs every day, NEW opportunities to grow, and I challenge myself each and every day. At one point in my career, I had the choice to pick between union and non-union. I chose this path as a recommendation from my union friends and acquaintances, because of the continual possibilities of growth as well as continual employment.

Not long after joining , I was able to gain recognition and a promotion based on my merits. Something that would be unlikely in a status quo environment based on seniority.
